Passing of one of our own
It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of Barbara Madden wife of former state Representative Jerry Madden.

In Memory of Barbara Madden, wife of former State Representative Jerry Madden

Jerry Madden, met the love of his live, Barbara, while at West Point in 1963. After she graduated from the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing and he graduated from West Point they married in in 1965. Jerry had to leave his bride when he went to Ranger School, but Barbara joined him for Airborne School. Barbara followed Jerry to Ft. Benning, Georgia, then to Baum Holder in Germany where their son, Jerry, was born. After Jerry's tours in Vietnam, she went with him to Ft. Sill Oklahoma where their first daughter, Stephanie, was born. They moved to Richardson Texas in 1969 where they welcomed their daughter Kristina.

Barbara was a nurse with a loving heart who cared for thousands of people in hospitals and nursing homes. She stood by Jerry while he served as the Collin County Republican Party Chairman and for his 20 years of service in the Texas House of Representatives. She preferred family to politics but loved Jerry enough to support him in his endeavors. Together they have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. They were friends, partners and soul mates, married for 52 years.
